WASHINGTON: US President Barack Obama will welcome his successor Donald Trump in the Oval Office on Thursday, for talks aiming at ensuring a smooth transition of power, the White House announced.
Trump, who defeated Democrat Hillary Clinton in a shock upset on Election Day, was to meet with Obama at 11:00 am (1600 GMT), with brief comments to the media at the end of the talks.
