Sean 'Diddy' Combs release date gets shocking update again

Sean “Diddy” Combs will now be released from prison in January 2028.

The 56-year-old rapper is currently serving a 50-month sentence after being convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

Including time served since his arrest in September 2024, he was initially due for release in June 2028, but that date has changed numerous times, including yet again this week.

According to Federal Bureau of Prisons records seen by TMZ, the I'll Be Missing You hitmaker will now be allowed home from FCI Fort Dix on 21 January 2028, replacing his most recent release date of 5 February that same year.

Meanwhile, despite being incarcerated, Combs is reportedly living a life in relative luxury inside the New Jersey prison, having allegedly used his wealth to pay fellow inmates to do his chores and give him massages.

Four men who have spent time in his unit spoke anonymously to NBC News, which also reviewed photos and videos taken inside the prison, including footage of the rapper seemingly using a contraband phone.

One of the men said, “This is not some normal s*** you see in jail. This is some rich s***. It looks crazy, but again, it’s Diddy.”

Another added, "He’s a billionaire. People are in awe of him. Money is power, especially behind bars.”

According to the sources, Combs spends thousands of dollars, with people outside prison putting money into the commissary accounts of inmates he has working for him, including one who cleans the toilet and shower areas before he uses them, and others who secretly cook him special meals such as curry and pizza using a makeshift heating element submerged in water.

One man said, “After a while, I got tired of cooking. He started going to the Jamaicans.”

When he arrived at Fort Dix, Combs entered a drug treatment programme but allegedly used the network there to acquire his phone, alcohol and a number of inmates on his payroll.

Guards are alleged to have smuggled in premium alcohol for Combs, which he has shared with a group of inmates.

One who claimed to have drunk Hennessy with him said, “Hell yeah, I drank with him."

However, a spokesperson for Combs insisted his "ordinary prison life" isn't news, saying, “The continued scrutiny of every mundane detail of Sean Combs’s life in prison has reached the point where the media characterises ordinary prison life as news.”

“The only real news is that Sean continues to serve his sentence while awaiting the court’s decision on his appeal,” they added.

Meanwhile, a Bureau of Prisons spokesperson said the agency does not comment on particular inmates due to “privacy, safety and security reasons.”

They added in a statement, “Like all correctional agencies, contraband, particularly cell phones, narcotics, and weapons, remains a constant challenge, and we continue to tackle the problem of contraband being introduced into our facilities."
