Margaret Qualley reveals what real nurses taught her for new gig
Margaret Qualley turns to real nurses to get new role 'right'
Margaret Qualley opened up about how she met real-life nurses in order to prepare for her role as a medical professional in Love of Your Life
The Substance star caught in a recent chat with People at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sunday where her new film had its world premiere.
Speaking about her role as Maya, Margaret said, “I just wanted to hear what their experiences were like, and I was really moved.”
“One of the things that stuck with me was just their attitude.”
She explained, “They would be dealing with some of the hardest moments you can deal with in life, and having to do it with a positive attitude to hold the people that they were taking care of — both, you know, literally and also emotionally.
“And I was also really compelled by the friendships within the hospital and how the nurses, you know, supported each other during those really tragic times.”
Margaret admitted that her research was “of course” a large part of her process when she takes on a new role, adding she just tries “to get it right” and “trying to make it as honest as you can.”
Love of Your Life set to release in select theaters on October 7.
