Ms Rachel lashes out at Ed Sheeran over statement on Macklemore
Ms Rachel called out Ed Sheeran for doing a concert for Ukraine and considering Palestine too dangerous and political
American YouTubers Ms Rachel has called out Ed Sheeran after the British singer addressed the decision to remove US rapper Macklemore from his US concert tour.
“Ed Sheeran is making a political statement to his fans when he does a concert to support Ukraine, but considers Palestine too dangerous and political.“
Ms Rachel posed her remarks on Instagram with the caption, “Imagine being a Palestinian kid and seeing he did a concert for Ukraine but when over 20,000 Palestinian children are killed he’s silent. When his opening act says Palestinians should be free and not in a genocide he lets a billionaire kick him off. Palestinian kids have been so dehumanized that as they continue to be killed people debate about being political. It’s sick.
Macklemore, a longtime critic of Israel's assault on Gaza, was axed from the US leg of Sheeran's Loop Tour after his "Free Palestine" remarks during a concert earlier this month in New Jersey triggered a backlash.
"I spoke with the venues at length all week to try and build a bridge ... I was also involved in direct talks with promoters along with activists on both sides to try and find a mutual resolution for all, but the venue's and promoter's decision was final," Sheeran said on Tuesday via X.
"Macklemore coming off tour was the promoter's decision, it was not mine."
