Angelina Jolie says her kids have a life 'separate' from hers

Angelina Jolie admits she doesn't get in the way of her kids because they have a "separate life."

The Oscar-winning actress shared some rare insights into her way of parenting, noting that she is “proud” that her kids, Maddox, 24, Pax, 22, Shiloh, 20, and 18-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, follow their own paths.

The Maleficent star said in a recent sit-down with L’Officiel, “One of the most important things, I think, is to basically not get in their way."

She continued to share her wise words with parents around the world, “As a parent, you try to do many things, but you also try to not get in the way of this human being.

The mom of six added that kids have "a life separate" from parents and "so much potential in their own mind."

Parents should make sure they are supporting their kids, Angelina explained.

And it’s a two-way route: Jolie supports her kids' passions, and her kids also fully support all the things she does.

The doting mom gushed over her work, “I really love and am looking forward to more connection and community. I’m not somebody who vacations or shops or things like that.

“I envision more field work, more travel, and just being out in the world. Get my motorcycle back, get back in a plane.”

And “that’s definitely" what her kids "want” her to do.

"They had Mom when Mom needed to be Mom. Now, they’d like me to call them from Tunisia having just landed a plane to meet with local artists," she added.

It is pertinent to mention that Jolie shares her kids with ex-husband Brad Pitt.
