Jimmy Kimmel shares daughter Jane's 'presumptuous' decision after his show's brief suspension

Jimmy Kimmel recently revealed that his daughter, Jane Kimmel, is already looking forward to following in his footsteps.

During the Monday, August 24 episode of the Armchair Expert podcast, the 58-year-old American television host and comedian shared that his 12-year-old daughter eyes his late-night show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and is extremely concerned over the fate of late-night television.

Referring to Kimmel show’s brief suspension in September 2025 after his remarks about the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, the podcast host Dax Shepard shared that Jane star “started crying because her show was going away.”

Kimmel, who found his daughter’s reaction “annoying and presumptuous,” stated, “For whatever reason, she’s decided, even though she’s one of my four children, that she is taking over the show. It was never a conversation even. It was just like, ‘Yeah, I will, of course, run the family business.’”

It is pertinent to mention that in addition to Jane, the Project X star is the father of three more children, Katie, Kevin, and William John Billy.

Jimmy Kimmel welcomed Katie and Kevin with his first wife, Gina Maddy, whom he was married to from 1988 to 2002. He shares Jane and William with his current wife, Molly McNearney, whom he tied the knot with in 2013.
