Cara Delevingne reveals why her debut album means 'everything' to her: 'Really proud'

After acing the grounds in the film and fashion industries, Cara Delevingne is all set to dip her toes in music.

And the 34-year-old star admitted her soon-to-be-released debut album is what her whole career and life led to.

Cara said she has been working on her debut album titled Not Normal for three years. She told Elle magazine, "It’s something I’ve put so much time into and I actually feel like I’ve been working on it for my whole life because it’s all been leading up to this."

Reflecting on the changes she made in herself that paved her way to music, Cara noted, "I believed in myself and tried making friends with myself. I know that sounds weird. I was just really horrible to myself, and when you get out of your own way it’s pretty crazy what you can achieve."

"A lot of that is represented in the production. I’m really proud to say I co-produced it with some incredible people and have enjoyed the process so much," she added.

With a history of substance abuse, Cara also admitted focusing on music also helped her to keep herself sane.

"I’ve learned a lot about myself in the process, and it’s also been something that’s kept me sane and sober."

Not Normal will feature tracks that Cara wrote while running errands or flying on a plane, with her first track from her teen days.

Cara shared, "The first and last song are like bookends. They are, which I didn’t mean to do, poems. I wrote the first one when I was probably 18 and the second when I was 25 as a stream of consciousness. Both of them were written on planes because that’s when I do most of my writing."

Not Normal is all set to release on September 25, 2026, through Warner Records.
