'Gentlemen' star Theo James spills why James Bond role isn't for him
Theo James reveals the downside of becoming James Bond
White Lotus star, Theo James, is sharing his reason why he thinks he is not a fit for the next James Bond.
With Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight writing the script, and Denis Villeneuve to direct the next James Bond film, it has been announced that the movie will hit theaters in 2028
However, the star whom Daniel Craig will hand the baton to has not been revealed yet; multiple actors have been rumored to play the role, among the names including Callum Turner, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Jacob Elordi; the Gentlemen star's name was also on the list.
Speaking to GQ, James, 41, cleared the air, "I’m definitely too old now, for one."
"But, yeah. That would be an example of a place you could never come back from," he added.
While discussing fame and anonymity, James noted, "Imagine, suddenly, you and I cannot walk down the street. What that does to your children, who are trying to find themselves in the midst of hyper-scrutiny and fame."
"None of that, to me, is worth it. At the time, it’s very intoxicating, being offered some huge, sexy part that would change your life forever. But it really wouldn’t ultimately be worth it," he added.
As per the latest update on the next James Bond, producer Amy Pascal announced that it is going to be revealed soon.
When Pascal was asked when to expect the announcement, she told Deadline, "I would say the end of the year is a good bet."
"We are being really, really methodical. Having worked with Barbara Broccoli at the studio, I mean, Daniel Craig is a hard act to follow."
