Perez Hilton's latest health update emerges after disturbing livestream

Following the alarming livestream in which Perez Hilton was apparently seen self-harming, his brother-in-law has now spilled some details into what happened behind the scenes and Perez's health amid hospitalization.

The 48-year-old social media influencer was admitted to a medical center on August 4 after facing a fall and broken bones during a livestream where he appeared to self-harm earlier this month and other injuries.

Hilton’s brother-in-law, Tom, joined The Perez Hilton Podcast with Chris Booker on Monday and revealed that Perez could be “impulsive at times" and recently moved to Miami after he underwent an emergency surgery for sepsis.

Though the move wasn’t “out of character”, Perez later regretted it.

Perez, whose real name is Mario Armando, is also father to three kids, all of whom lived with him and his mother. And at the time of inflicting self harm, his sister, kids and mother were at the home.

Updating on his treatment, Tom shared that he is majorly receiving treatment for his physical injuries and slowly transitioning toward his mental health as well.

“So, we are now just transitioning into the mental side of things,” Tom added. “Although, of course, while he’s in the hospital, while he’s being treated for his physical ailments, psychiatrists come in and check in and see how he’s doing and make sure he’s not looking to harm himself.”

However, the actual reason behind Perez's behavior has not yet been revealed or shared by him.

He further shared, “The actual healing, or digging into what caused this mental break as I’ve called it, hasn’t been discovered. I don’t know if it will ever be.

“We will get into that more once he’s in that setting, where we’re focusing on his mental health.”

Regarding Perez's relationship with his kids, Tom said his family has since told him "his kids adore him, and he’s been a present father.”

Currently, Perez's kids are under his mother's temporary custody.
