Prince Harry honours fallen soldiers amid major family move

Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex made a meaningful visit to Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. just months after his father King Charles honoured fallen service members at the same location.

After spending time at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center he visited the cemetery, where he met with wounded service members, medical staff and members of the military community.

At Arlington, the Duke of Sussex witnessed the changing of the guard and laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, paying tribute to unidentified Americans who lost their lives in war.

Prince Harry, who served in the British Army and completed two tours of Afghanistan, also met with four Gold Star families and visited the graves of their loved ones.

His visit included time with the wife of Army Sgt. Michael Verardo, a veteran who survived two IED attacks in Afghanistan and later became an advocate for wounded veterans and military families.

The visit comes as the news broke about Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle returning to the UK. The Sussexes are planning to relocate to the UK for an extended period. Their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are expected to begin school there in September.
