Cristiano Ronaldo, Georgina Rodriguez wedding: Date, venue and details revealed
The couple first met in Madrid in 2016
Cristiano Ronaldo is set to marry his long-time partner Georgina Rodriguez in a lavish wedding in Madeira.
According to The Sun, the ceremony venue will be the historic Funchal Cathedral located in Madeira’s capital, Portugal. The celebrations will move on to the luxury five-star Savoy Palace hotel for the reception.
As reported by Goal, the wedding is expected to take place next weekend. Some reports indicated August 8 with week-long celebrations taking place on Friday and Saturday. And some reports claimed that the wedding would take place at the Quinta da Regaleira estate in the city of Sintra but these reports were shut down.
According to the British newspaper, Ronaldo will tie the knot at the cathedral where ceremonies typically commence at 3:00 PM, before celebrating at the Savoy Palace, a venue featuring four distinct restaurants.
A source claimed, "Hotel guests have been informed that two floors will not be available for use on Friday and Saturday, along with several areas designated for bars."
Security measures and preparations have reportedly gone into motion, with hotel guests notified that specific floors and bar areas have been blocked off for a private high-profile event.
Choosing Funchal holds deep emotional importance as Cristiano Ronaldo was born and raised at Funchal and the city graces him with a bronze statue.
The couple first met in Madrid in 2016, announced their engagement in August 2025, and share a family raising five children together.
