Toronto civic holiday weekend: What to know about closures and transit

People spending the civic holiday weekend in Toronto can expect a mix of business closures, open attractions and changes to public transport on Monday.

According to CP24, banks, government offices and Toronto Public Library branches will be closed for the holiday. Selected LCBO and Beer Store locations will remain open.

Many of the city's major attractions will operate as usual, including the CN Tower, Toronto Zoo, Ripley's Aquarium of Canada, the Royal Ontario Museum, the Art Gallery of Ontario, Casa Loma and the Aga Khan Museum.

Several shopping centres, including CF Toronto Eaton Centre, Yorkdale Shopping Centre, Square One and Vaughan Mills, will also open with holiday hours.

Transit services will see some changes. According to CP24, the TTC will run largely normal holiday service, but Line 6 Finch West will not begin operating until 4pm because of planned maintenance.

The TTC said service will begin later "due to planned signalling software upgrade work". Shuttle buses will operate while work is carried out.

GO Transit train services will run on a Saturday schedule, while the UP Express will operate on its regular holiday and weekend timetable.

Forecasters expect sunny conditions on Friday, with rain possible on Saturday and Sunday.
