Oscar-winning songwriter Glen Hansard dies in crash at 56

The Oscar-winning Irish musician Glen Hansard reportedly died in a motorbike crash on Wednesday in Dublin at the age of 56.
According to reports, police have requested for community assistance with the keen investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. At present no further details about the incident have been yet released.
Hansard was known for his contributions to music and film by winning the Academy Award for the Best Original Song, and the 2027 independent musical film Once. He was the remarkable frontman of a rock group and was also featured in The Commitments.
A statement released from ATC Management said: “With broken hearts we announce the passing of Glen Hansard who passed away in the early hours of this morning following a road traffic accident in Dublin.”
“Glen's family is deeply shocked and heartbroken by this tragic loss and respectfully requests privacy at this extremely difficult time.”
