Man arrested after incendiary device incident outside New York federal building

A man has been arrested after an incendiary device was thrown outside 26 Federal Plaza in Manhattan, a federal building that houses offices for the FBI and US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Authorities identified the suspect as Andrew Arrabaca, 43. According to officials, he is in custody following the incident, which left two people with minor injuries.

In a post on social media, FBI Director Kash Patel said: "This morning an individual deployed an incendiary device outside of 26 Federal Plaza in New York. The individual is in custody and two minor injuries reported thus far. FBI JTTF is investigating the incident."

According to Fox News Digital, citing law enforcement sources, Arrabaca allegedly had "anti-ICE stuff on him" at the time of his arrest. The outlet also reported that he was carrying a cart displaying the words, "ICE off our streets."

Responding to the incident, Tom Homan, the Trump administration's border czar, told Fox News: "ICE isn't leaving the streets at all. Matter of fact, we are going to increase our presence in New York."

Meanwhile, The New York Post, said the suspect was armed and allegedly threatened people walking nearby after setting off fireworks outside the federal building. The investigation remains ongoing.
