Savannah Guthrie explains temporary break from TODAY
Savannah Guthrie's previous disappearance from TODAY sparked much speculations
Whenever Savannah Guthrie disappeared from TODAY, a wave of speculation swept social media, with theories about whether it had anything to do with her missing mom, Nancy.
Supposedly aware of such rumours, the anchor publicly shared the reason for her latest temporary break from the show.
“I’m headed over to shoot ‘Wordle’ over the next few weeks,” she said on TODAY on July 16.
“We’re going to shoot the whole season, and we’re super excited. Cannot wait for everyone to see it," the 54-year-old added.
Previously, Jimmy Fallon, the host of The Tonight Show and executive producer of the new show, was over the moon on Savannah, hosting, saying, “We were looking, we’re like, ‘Who’s the perfect host for this?"
He continued, "We need to have someone that looks like they play Wordle, someone that knows how to run a show and host it.’ And we did the pilot, and you are amazing."
The show was announced back in May about Wordle, which has become a widely popular word game owned by The New York Times since 2022.
Although no release date has been announced yet, the Wordle game show is expected to air in 2027.
Meanwhile, Savannah's mom, Nancy, has been missing for months, yet no details about her whereabouts or her presumed kidnappers have been uncovered.
