Bill Gates breaks silence on Epstein meetings as new transcript reveals major details
The release of additional Epstein files by the Justice Department sparked questions about Bill Gates’ ties to the late convicted sex offender
According to a transcript of his closed-door interview with the House Oversight Committee released on Tuesday, Bill Gates testified that he had never communicated with victims of Jeffrey Epstein, though he conceded that he may have been in their presence.
The 70-year-old maintained during his Capitol Hill interview that his three-year relationship with the convicted sex offender was unprofessional, underlining that and that he never witnessed or participated in any sexual misconduct.
In this connection, Gates said: “That’s a very good point, who also acknowledged he saw some of Epstein's female employees at the end of a meeting on one of Epstein’s planes.”
The released transcript of Epstein’s longtime assistant, Lesley Groff, who characterized her former manager as a master manipulator said that she did not have any significant information about his crimes. Gate was initially introduced to Epstein in 2011 through one of his most reliable employees, Dr. Boris Nikolic who Gates believes told Epstein about his extramarital affairs.
Gates testified that he first met Epstein in 2011, claiming he was unaware the financier had a “criminal conviction” was of a sexual nature, but still Gates was eager to explore a collaboration with Epstein, who claimed he could raise billions of dollars for global health initiatives.
The Microsoft co-founder wished he had not ignored Epstein’s bad reputation in pursuit of a philanthropic opportunity that never came to realization.
“I think that Epstein, when he was writing emails to himself, took every potential negative thing he knew, and some that are completely false, and he put those into draft emails to himself,” Gates said.
It is pertinent to mention here that Groff is one of the most crucial figures of the late financier’s inner orbit to speak as part of Epstein investigation- a pivotal assistant who helped manage every aspect of Epstein’s life from scheduling massages to appointments with women to high-profile meetings with prominent individuals, as documented in millions of Justice Department Epstein files.
Groff in wake of the defense booking appointments for Epstein said: “I would not have known that this was a massage. I don’t know — you’re assuming that I would think it was a massage, but I did not think of it as a massage.”
