Lizzo has shared her thoughts on why she believes her fanbase is not as strong as it once was.

The singer recently responded to a post on X after a fan questioned why she no longer seems to have the same level of support she had just a few years ago.

“Lizzo not having a fanbase is so weird to me when this woman was literally selling out arenas not even 2 years ago,” the user wrote.

Lizzo replied by saying the music industry has changed a lot in recent years. The Grammy winner said streaming now plays a much bigger role than radio, and radio stations were once a major reason people discovered her music.

“I was a radio darling,” she wrote, adding that the shift away from radio has affected artists like her.

The singer also mentioned the legal controversy surrounding her in 2023. Three former backup dancers filed a lawsuit against Lizzo, accusing her of harassment and other misconduct. Some claims were later dismissed by a judge, while others were allowed to move forward.

Lizzo said the public criticism around the case also had an impact on her career and public image. Despite that, she said she is still doing her best and continuing to make music.

Earlier this month, Lizzo released her fifth studio album, B****. She explained that she chose the title because she wanted to reclaim the word and turn it into something positive and empowering.

Lizzo’s last major tour was The Special Tour, which took place between 2022 and 2023.
