Whoopi Goldberg loses her cool on live TV after ‘The View’ co-hosts interrupt her
Whoopi Goldberg and her co-hosts were having a conversation on pickleball
Whoopi Goldberg threw a tantrum during The View’s latest episode as she appeared to be frustrated by a series of interruptions during a chat about pickleball.
The 70-year-old appeared to be flustered as the ABC chat roundtable drew to a close and she couldn't get a word in to conclude the Hot Topics segment.
After the EGOT winner asked if pickleball was to be taken seriously, Ana Navarro said, “I feel attacked here,” cutting off Goldberg.
Alyssa Farah Griffin said that pickleball is “harder than it looks,” as Goldberg was about to say something else.
Panelists Sara Haines and Sunny Hostin also expressed themselves on the topic as Goldberg tried to steer it her way, to no avail.
Navarro said, “But, I say to you people: to which Goldberg cut her off, saying, “Listen, hush up! Let me finish so I can close the thing up!”
Navarro said the moment would create headlines, a prediction which came true as multiple news outlets have reported the details of the conversation.
Earlier on the show, the panel welcomed former First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, who is on the promotional trail for her new book, View from the East Wing.
Goldberg has been a moderator on the ABC show since 2007, often making headlines for her outspoken views on topics, notably politics amid her disdain for President Donald Trump.
An insider spoke to the Daily Mail last month about rumors producers could be looking to replace the mainstay.
“They were likely part of a strategy implemented by people who would benefit if she wasn't there anymore,” the insider assumed.
“Producers and the ladies believe all the negative talk of turmoil is coming from those in the Trump administration and other Republicans that don't like the show or the ladies,” a show insider said.
The show's current cast of Goldberg, Griffin, Hostin, Haines, Navarro and Joy Behar - who is currently on sabbatical from the show - remains intact as it heads into its 30th season, the insider assured.
“The ladies are all content with keeping their jobs,' the source said, 'and people behind the scenes are happy with how the show is going and having Whoopi at the helm,” they concluded.
