Kate Hudson gets emotional over son Ryder's major milestone as exes join celebration
The actress and singer welcomed her eldest son Ryder with former partner Chris Robinson
Kate Hudson is commemorating her eldest son Ryder Robinson's college graduation with her family and exes.
The 47-year-old actress took to her Instagram account to reflect on her motherhood journey as she welcomed son Ryder at the age of 23 with ex Chris Robinson.
In the celebratory post, Kate penned down a heartfelt tribute to her firstborn and also shared a series of snaps with her family from the celebration, including Chris Robinson, as well as Kate's former fiancé Matt Bellamy.
The Running Point actress began, "I remember staring into the eyes of baby Ryder. I was young but unwavering as a mother. I thought I knew exactly what I was doing. Isn’t time a beautiful reminder to allow reflection and consideration of all we thought we knew, yet had no idea? The future was ahead and I wondered, “Who will this child be one day? What will be their favorite food? Will they be funny? Serious? Difficult? Will they be fun to be around? Please God make them cool. Will they get through life with perspective? Will they be happy?” The last being the most important to me, but the endless questions."
Reflecting on her role as a mother, Kate continued, "Then the anxiety. Oh, I have it. It floats daily, and I believe that most mothers have it even if they can’t quite pin down the feeling. “I haven’t heard from them in a couple days. Are they staying out of trouble? Are they being kind to people? Can they manage? Am I being too hard on them? Should I not call? Should I call more?” I’ve spent most of my adult life with this floating friend, anxiety. It’s a she for me. She keeps me on my mommy toes."
The dotting mom gushed over Ryder's milestone, saying, "And then poof! One day, you’re at the college graduation of your first born. He is fun, vibrant, kind. His friends are all awesome and unique, none the same. He loves his family, his siblings and gosh darn it, he loves his mom."
Kate concluded that her 22-year-old son's graduation is the answer to all the anxiety, "This celebration party night I felt a young man carrying great love out into the world. And that is the greatest comfort as a mother. To witness him, ready for the next adventure. I’m allowing myself a quiet moment of pride, and I hope many of the mamas and papas out there having the same experience this past week are doing the same. Here’s to the graduates!"
It is pertinent to mention that Kate Hudson is also mom to son Bingham, 13, whom she welcomed with Muse frontman Matt Bellamy and a daughter named Rani, whom she shares with fiance Danny Fujikawa.
