Robert Lewandowski has bid farewell to FC Barcelona after four legendary seasons in an emotional message.
The 37-year-old Polish striker will leave FC Barcelona as a free agent when his contract ends after the 2025-2026 season, following 119 goals, 24 assists, and 190 appearances.
Taking to Instagram, Lewandowski shared an emotional farewell message, “After four years full of challenges and hard work, it's time to move on. I leave with the feeling that the mission is complete. Four seasons, three championships. I will never forget the love I received from the fans from my very first days.”
“Catalonia is my place on earth. Thank you to everyone I met along the way during these beautiful four years.”
While thanking fans and President Laporta, he wrote, “A special thank you to President Laporta for giving me the chance to live the most incredible chapter of my career. Barca is back where it belongs. Visca el Barca. Visca Catalunya,” he added.
Lewandowski joined Barcelona in 2022 from Bayern Munich and soon he became a key figure in the club’s rebuilding project. He helped the club to win three La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey, and three Spanish Supercups.
Barcelona also gave him a classy tribute in a post on X, captioned, “Came as a star. Leaves as legend.”
“Thank you, Robert Lewandowski, for every goal, every battle, and every magic moment wearing these colours. Culer forever.”
His farewell message also took the internet by storm. The fans started pouring heart-warming messages and wishes.
One user wrote, “You are a legend not only for what you have won, you are a legend because you gave us time. Forever grateful for choosing Barcelona.”
Another one commented, “You came to this club when no one wanted, scored 120 goals, won 7 trophies and changed this team completely. You are a Barca legend. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING LEWY.”
The third one stated, “i’ll never forget you Lewa.”
Messages like, “Thanks for everything GOAT! It was a pleasure watching you score this beauty,” and “Thank you Lewi. For all you have done for Catalonia. We will never forget,” also paid tribute to the striker.
