Sir Rod Stewart's comments about US President Donald Trump have received mixed reactions from Britons and Americans.

In a meeting with King Charles on Monday, the singer said the monarch was "absolutely superb" during his recent state visit to the US, adding that the king "put that little ratbag in his place".

He mentioned the royals' recent US visit in a conversation with Charles and Camilla during an event on Monday celebrating the 50th anniversary of the King's Trust at the Royal Albert Hall.

While many Britons and Americans have praised Rod Stewart over his remarks, there were some who called him out for what they called his hypocrisy.

"There's a very particular kind of guy we get in the UK who is quite at ease with fascism but hates Donald Trump for being so vulgar," said a user commenting on Rod Stewart's video.

Criticizing Rod Stewart, some users referred to his interview where he expressed support for Nigel Farage, a right-wing populist and the leader of the UK Reform party.

One American user said, "How can we ever take a country that still has kings seriously."

"You never see these famous people like Rod Stewart saying anything about Charles supporting and protecting Pedophiles like his brother and his uncle Louis Mountbanten though," said another.

In a 2025 interview, Rod Stewart explicitly said the UK should give Nigel Farage a chance. Voicing support for Reform UK, he said, “We’re fed up with the Tories. We’ve got to give Farage a chance. He’s coming across well.”
