King Charles receives high praise from Rod Stewart for putting Trump 'in his place'
Rod Stewart hails King Charles III as 'absolutely superb'
King Charles lll has received high praise from Rod Stewart for putting "ratbag" Donald Trump in his place.
His majesty attended The King's Trust's 50th Anniversary Celebration on Monday, where he greeted a star-studded lineup of guests, including Rita Ora, Anne-Marie, and Craig David.
When he reached Rod down the line, the music icon warmly shook the King's hand and congratulated him on his recent American trip.
"May I say, well done in the Americas," Rod said, as per clip shared on social media by the Daily Mail. "You were superb. Absolutely superb.'
"You put that little rat bag in his place," the Forever Young hitmaker added, referring to President Trump.
King Charles didn't visibly respond to Rod's comment, although the light-hearted moment seemed to amuse those standing nearby.
For the unversed, Rod and Trump were friends in the early 2010s when they lived near each other in Palm Beach.
Last year, the 81-year-old British singer told the Radio Times that he no longer considered Trump a friend.
"How's that war ever gonna stop?" he asked.
"He's always been a bit of a man's man. I liked him for that. But he didn't, as far as I'm concerned, treat women very well. But since he became President, he became another guy. Somebody I didn't know," added Rod.
