Samsung One UI 8.5 update to Galaxy S25 users in the US brings Agentic AI, AirDrop compatibility, Creative Studio, and more
Samsung officially released the stable One UI 8.5 update to Galaxy S25 series phones in the US, bringing advanced AI features, Apple AirDrop compatibility, and over 50 new capabilities originally reserved for the unreleased Galaxy S26 line-up.
The rollout started last week in South Korea and has now made its way to US Galaxy S25 devices. The stable release comes with build numbers S938USQU9CZDP/S938UOYN9CZDP, occupies a space of 4408.31 MB, and is accompanied by the April security update.
Samsung aims to launch One UI 8.5 on other Galaxy devices in the coming days, which will include the Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Tab devices.

The update's centrepiece is agentic AI technology that allows your phone to understand context and make decisions without constant user input.
Key AI features include the following:
Image editing with text prompts: Describe desired changes and watch AI alter photos. Change clothing colours, add objects to empty scenes, or generate entirely new image compositions. Continuous generation lets you create multiple variations without saving iterations.
Creative studio: The new creative suite lets users generate custom wallpapers, unique stickers, and personalised profile images directly accessible from the home screen. Photo Assist applies stylised effects across all photo types, not just people or pets.
Improved camera features: Scanning can automatically detect the papers and eliminate unwanted fingers, paper folds, and other distractions. Two cameras can be recorded at once. Log videos come with real-time LUT colour previews.
More to updates, Quick Share is now available for AirDrop, meaning that Samsung users can share their photos, videos, and files with iPhone, iPad, and Mac users using AirDrop functionality.
Additionally, Samsung enhanced the functionalities of its virtual assistant, Bixby. It does not require users to use the exact term when giving commands since it can read the conversation history and respond immediately.
