Billy Bob Thornton breaks silence on his shocking health struggles
Billy Bob Thornton reveals rare health woes that he has been enduring since childhood
Billy Bob Thornton recently shared an update on his rare health woes that have worsened his diet-related issues.
Thornton sat with Howie Mandel to record an episode of his podcast, Howie Mandel Does Stuff, that was published on May 5.
While discussing different topics, the conversation soon turned towards health when the 70-year-old American actor and filmmaker revealed why he is on a restrictive diet.
He told the host that his diet is “very restricted” because he is “allergic to wheat, dairy. I have type AB-negative blood, which is the rarest type in the world. It's, like, less than 1% of the population of the world has it.”
Thornton then shared that he has been dealing with unrelated dietary restrictions as well as some stomach issues due to his rare blood type.
"It means you have less digestive enzymes. That's one of the things that goes along with it,” the Landman star said of his blood type, adding that he “ate everything” despite “growing up with a lot of allergies” in Arkansas and Texas.
“I just assumed everybody felt like s**** after they ate. I didn't know. But anyway, I can't have dairy, wheat… can't eat meat, like, you know, pork or beef or any of that stuff,” Billy Bob Tornton said of his childhood health struggles.
It is pertinent to mention that according to WebMD, people born with the AB blood type “tend to have low stomach acid.”
