Iran says US proposal still under review, accusing US of ceasefire violate after Hormuz clash
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said Tehran was reviewing the proposal and weighing its response
Iran says it is still considering the latest US proposal aimed at ending the conflict between Tehran and Washington, as tensions remain high following a naval confrontation in the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said Tehran was reviewing the proposal and weighing its response, according to Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency.
Baghaei also accused the United States of violating the ceasefire and breaching international law during military action overnight.
He said Iranian forces were closely monitoring developments and remained ready to respond to any “aggression and adventurism”.
The comments came after Iranian officials said a US attack on an Iranian vessel in and around the Strait of Hormuz left multiple sailors injured and missing.
Mohammad Radmehr, governor of Minab county in southern Iran, said rescue teams had recovered the body of one of five sailors initially reported missing after the incident.
Iran’s Mehr news agency quoted Radmehr as saying that search operations were continuing for the remaining four missing crew members.
Earlier reports said 10 sailors were injured during the confrontation.
