Zoe Kravitz defends engagement to Harry Styles from clout against streaming giant
Zoe Kravitz called out the streaming platform for using her engagement to Harry Styles as promotion
Zoe Kravitz hit out at “tacky” streaming platform Hulu for seemingly using her engagement to Harry Styles to promote her now-cancelled series.
The actor, got engaged to the singer after eight months of dating and has been seen flashing a large diamond ring on her left hand.
Hulu appeared to cash in on the major relationship news on their Instagram account by sharing a post about Kravitz’s defunct show, High Fidelity and reminding viewers that it is still available to stream.
The show, starring Kravitz as record owner Robyn Brooks, was cancelled after one series by Hulu in 2020, which was something the actress branded as a “big mistake.”
However, this week, the streamer shared an Instagram photo of Kravitz from the series alongside a reference to her new fiance’s album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally.
“Robyn Brooks definitely has Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally on her playlist. Now streaming: #HighFidelity,” the caption read.
Kravitz hit back in the comments: “This is tacky @hulu.”
The post appears to have since been deleted, but was shared on Reddit.
One Reddit user wrote: “I imagine it's annoying to see the company that cancelled your show after one season promoting it years later just for the sake of cheap social media engagement around your own personal life.”
Back when the show was cancelled, Zoe Kravitz blasted Hulu and suggested that their other shows don’t have diverse casts.
“It’s cool. At least Hulu has a ton of other shows starring women of color we can watch. Oh wait,” she posted at the time.
