Iran says more than 12,000 homes damaged during US-Israeli war have been restored

Officials in Iran say more than 12,000 residential buildings damaged during the recent conflict involving the United States and Israel have now been restored.

According to Iranian state media, Brigadier General Mohammad Zahraei said around 60,500 housing units across the country were damaged during the war.

The largest number of affected properties was reported in Tehran, where officials recorded roughly 46,000 damaged homes.

Another 12,300 units were damaged in Isfahan, while about 2,200 were affected in Qom.

Zahraei, who heads Iran’s Basij Construction Organization, said more than 12,000 homes have already been repaired with the help of volunteer groups and reconstruction teams.

The damage followed months of fighting linked to the wider US-Israeli military campaign against Iran earlier this year.

Iranian authorities have been working to restore damaged neighbourhoods while also assessing the wider economic impact of the war.

Officials have not yet released updated figures on how many people were displaced during the conflict or how long reconstruction efforts are expected to continue.
