King Charles shares a statement during a high-stakes visit to the US
King Charles is "deeply concerned" following a terrorist attack on two Jewish men in Golders Green during a high-stakes visit to the U.S.
"The King is being kept fully informed and is 'deeply concerned' after the terrorist attack on two Jewish men in Golders Green, and his 'thoughts and prayers' are with the victims," Buckingham Palace said.
Details of the shocking terrorist attack
A 45-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the attempted murder of two men, aged 76 and 34, according to Mark Rowley, commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Service.
The suspect, the head of police stated, has a history of violence and struggles with mental health issues.
The incident is classified as terrorism by the authorities after two members of the British Jewish community were attacked.
Investigations are ongoing as to whether the Jewish community was deliberately targeted.
The Prime Minister Keir Starmer's spokesman issued a statement, stating, “It’s a deeply shocking incident."
“A live police investigation is under way, so it would be inappropriate for me to go further than that.”
“We know that many in the Jewish community face a daily threat of antisemitic hatred. And this is a hatred that is rising once again, and we must defeat it," the statement added.
