Storm damage leaves thousands without power as outages spread across multiple US counties
Montgomery County recorded the highest number of affected customers, with 8,452 outages, followed by Greene County with 4,738
Thousands of residents are without electricity after storms moved through the region, causing widespread outages across several counties.
According to an outage map from AES Corporation, 13,831 customers were without power as of 8:35 AM, with the majority of outages reported in Montgomery and Greene counties.
Montgomery County recorded the highest number of affected customers, with 8,452 outages, followed by Greene County with 4,738.
Smaller outages were reported in Champaign, Preble, Logan, Miami and Darke counties.
Separately, FirstEnergy reported that 410 customers in Clark County were also without power.
The outages come after storms swept through the area overnight, though officials have not yet released details on the extent of damage or restoration timelines.
Utility crews are expected to continue working to restore power as conditions allow.
