Prince William and Kate Middleton planning Australia visit: report

Prince William and Kate Middleton planning a trip to Australia in a matter of months, said a report citing a palace insider.

"The Waleses know their return to Australia is "overdue", given they have not visited since 2014, when Prince George was a baby," reported Sky News Australia.

"Now, William and Kate could return with all three of their children before the year is through, in what is allegedly being branded a "revenge tour" by palace insiders," the report said.

Speaking to New Idea news outlet an insider said, "William and Kate both know that they need to give Australia a real ‘bells and whistles’ royal tour as soon as their schedule allows."

"William and Kate know that the Australian public deserve better. "It’s their job to make it happen."

The source claimed that William and Catherine are "well aware" that an official tour Down Under "will take any gloss off" Harry and Meghan's recent visit.

The report came days after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visited  the country.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down as working members of the British royal family and moved to the US in 2020, citing a desire to be financially independent and to escape what they characterised as media intrusion into their private ‌lives.

They last visited Australia in 2018 while still working royals, announcing Meghan's first pregnancy hours after arriving in Sydney.
