Jake Reiner breaks silence on his parents Rob Reiner, Michele Singer's tragic death

Jake Reiner is grieving the tragic death of both his parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner.

On December 14, 2025, Rob and his wife Michele were found lifeless with multiple sharp force injuries at their Brentwood residence, a neighborhood in Los Angeles, California. The late couple’s son Nick Reiner is in police custody on suspicion of murder, and the case is still ongoing.

Jake penned a heart-wrenching post on his Substack, where he talked for the first time about his parents’ death and the grief he has been going through after their tragic passing.

The one thing that is shattering him is the fact that his parents will not be with him to celebrate his upcoming milestones.

Jake wrote, “I was robbed of so many things that day. My parents won’t be at my wedding, they won’t get to hold their future grandchild, and they won’t get to see me have the successful career I’m still seeking. It simultaneously breaks my heart and enrages me.”

He admitted that losing “both parents instantly at the same time” is the worst thing that “nobody can prepare you for,” adding, “It’s too devastating to comprehend.”

“I still wake up every morning having to convince myself that, no, it’s not a dream. This truly is my living nightmare,” the Misery star’s son shared.

Rob and Michele are “at the center of” his life, as he described them as his “guiding lights, the foundation of who I am as a human being, and the most giving people I have ever known.”

It is pertinent to mention that Rob and Michele welcomed three kids together, Jake, Nick, and Romy, while the late actor also had a daughter, Tracy, from his previous marriage to Penny Marshall.
