Carol Burnett weighs in on shift away from acting
Carol Burnett shared how she manages to keep her creativity alive without the early mornings
Carol Burnett has embraced a new chapter in her career.
In a recent conversation with PEOPLE Magazine, the legendary entertainer admitted she is no longer fond of the demanding routines that come with being in front of the camera.
“I’m really not a fan anymore of getting up at the crack of dawn and putting on makeup and all of that,” Burnett said with a laugh.
While she has not completely ruled out acting, Burnett hinted that any future on-screen appearances would likely be brief.
“I might do a bit on Pluribus,” she shared noting that “we’re thinking about [it], but it wouldn’t be a long thing at all.”
Instead, the 90-year-old icon admitted to channeling her energy into behind-the-scenes work.
“But I’m working on stuff behind the scenes now,” she added.
“So I can’t reveal it yet, but we’ve got some interesting projects coming up where I would be like a co-writer and co-producer."
Before conclusion, Burnett said, "So that way, I’ve still got my hands in it, but I’m not in front of the camera.”
