Meghan Markle's use of Archie and Lilibet's royal titles angers palace
Buckingham Palace reacts to Meghan's use of Archie and Lilibet's royal titles
Buckingham Palace has reportedly reacted with anger after Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, appeared to reference her children’s royal titles in new products released under her As Ever lifestyle brand.
The wife of Prince Harry launched two scented candles priced at £47 each as part of a Mother’s Day collection, with product names reflecting the birthdates of her children, Prince Archie of Sussex and Princess Lilibet of Sussex.
According to media reports, a palace source described the marketing move as “an outrageous use of their titles.”
The products mark the first time the brand has directly referenced Meghan and Harry's children.
A source close to Markle said the approach was “tasteful” and had the backing of her husband, Prince Harry.
The collection was promoted through influencer gift boxes containing candles, chocolates and handwritten notes describing personal family memories.
