Ex-FBI agent shares one unexplored way to find Savannah Guthrie’s mom Nancy

With the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s mom Nancy reaching its third month in a matter of days, a former FBI agent finally gives their thoughts on what may finally bring her home. ¬¬

The ex-agent in question is Jennifer Coffindaffer and she spoke to Newsweek about the 84-year-old Tucson resident whose been missing since February 1, 2026.

She believes cryptocurrency and how it moves could provide crucial information, into the identity of the person who sent the ransom notes.

“Tickling the wire in this case would be putting half a bitcoin and seeing what happens to it. they take it? Do they convert it to pesos? It's internationally tracked. How does it come out into currency? Do they just leave it there?” she started by explaining her thought process to the outlet.

Because “once it's gone, it's going to be gone. But I would want that last bread crumb. I think it would be worth it to me.”

For those unversed, the ransom notes in question are those sent to TMZ by someone who claims they have information related to her whereabouts but will deliver that news after crypto has been distributed. The person’s offer also includes the option to deliver the kidnappers “on a silver platter” should their demand be met.

What is also pertinent to mention is that Nancy’s family is currently offering a $1.2 million reward to anyone who has information of her whereabouts and can aid in bringing her home.
