RCMP confirm missing Calgary woman Diane Cooper found dead in Saskatchewan
Diane Cooper was last seen on April 6 after leaving her home in the Edgemont area of Calgary with her dog
RCMP have confirmed that a Calgary woman reported missing earlier this month has been found dead in rural Saskatchewan.
Diane Cooper, 82, was last seen on April 6 after leaving her home in the Edgemont area of Calgary with her dog.
A security camera later captured her in Stettler, Alberta, where she stopped for fuel and was then seen near midnight in the hamlet of Hoosier in western Saskatchewan.
In a news release issued Sunday, Consort RCMP said Cooper’s body was discovered near Kindersley, Saskatchewan, on Saturday evening.
Police said her death is not considered suspicious.
The discovery comes after nearly two weeks of searching across parts of Alberta and Saskatchewan. Cooper’s dog was found alive.
Family members shared their grief in a message posted to social media. “Our grandma has unfortunately passed away. While this is not entirely unexpected, we are absolutely heartbroken. By some miracle, our dog Halo has survived,” her granddaughter Zoe wrote.
RCMP did not release further details about the circumstances surrounding Cooper’s death.
