D4vd's family speaks out following singer's shocking arrest
D4vd was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of murdering a teenage girl
D4vd’s family came out in support of the singer following his shocking arrest.
For those unversed, the Here With Me hitmaker was detained on Thursday on suspicion of murdering a teen girl, Celeste Rivas Hernández.
The 14-year-old girl's decomposed remains were found in his Tesla in September.
In a statement to Rolling Stone, D4vd’s lawyer said the singer's parents, Dawud Burke and Colleen Burke, are rallying behind their son.
“The parents are sad and disappointed that David was arrested, however, they fully stand behind him and believe that he is innocent,” family lawyer Kent A. Schaffer told the outlet. “They fully support him.”
Earlier, D4vd’s attorneys, Blair Berk, Marilyn Bednarski, and Regina Peter, released a joint statement regarding the 21-year-old singer's arrest.
"Let us be clear - the actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez and he was not the cause of her death," they said in a statement provided to TMZ.
“There has been no indictment returned by any grand jury in this case and no criminal complaint filed. David has only been detained under suspicion. We will vigorously defend David’s innocence," the lawyers added.
