Conan O'Brien teases 'very powerful' tribute for late Rob Reiner at Oscars

Conan O'Brien is all set for his Oscars gig as he will honor his late pal Rob Reiner at the ceremony.

The When Harry Met Sally director who tragically passed away with his wife after his son Nick murdered his parents in December, will be remembered with a "very powerful" message in the upcoming annual award show on Sunday.

During a recent appearance on the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre on Thursday, the host Conan told Extra that the tribute is "hard to sum up."

"But it's going to be a very powerful part of the show," he noted.

As this will be Conan's second Oscar hosting in a row, he expressed his excitement for the hosting gig.

"I had a lot of fun and I just wanted to do it again, and then the movies this year have been insane. It was such a great year for movies that I'm excited to be even a small part of it," he gushed.

"We've been working hard with my writers. I got great writers. We have a bunch of ideas. Some things are a little more ambitious than last year, and we'll see how it goes."

"I can always skip town if I have to and lay low for a while," he added jokingly.

Notably, this year's Oscar ceremony, the "memoriam" segment will be longer than last year's one, according to the Oscars producer, Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan.

"I guess we can't really go into detail of what it's gonna be this year, but we really hope that it is a tribute that moves people and feels like it does the incredible people we've lost this year justice," Mullan explained.
