‘Wildest party’: Elon Musk responds after his name surfaces in Epstein files
Elon Musk breaks silence following release of Epstein documents
Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has spoken out after his email correspondence was revealed in a massive cache of over 3 million Jeffrey Epstein related documents published by the Department of Justice.
The emails show Musk inquiring about visiting sex offender’s private island in 2012 and 2023, at one point when the “wildest party” would take place. While Musk and others have been mentioned in the files, they have not been accused of any wrongdoing in connection with Epstein.
Musk shared his remarks while aiming to distance himself in a series of posts on X, with one describing the new documents as “a distraction.”
The world’s richest main further clarified, “I had very little correspondence with Epstein and declined repeated invitations to go to his island or fly on his “Lolita Express” but was well aware that some email correspondence with him could be misinterpreted and used by detractors to smear my name.”
“What matters is not the release of some subset of the Epstein files, but rather the prosecution of those who committed heinous crimes with Epstein.” Musk wrote in one post.
In later posts, he restated his call for the clients of Epstein’s “underage child sex ring to be prosecuted.”
Musk's name has surfaced in the recent Epstein controversy. In one email sent on Christmas Day, Musk asked Epstein about attending a party, noting that he wanted to “let loose” and take a break from work. The newly released documents also mention other high-profiled figures including President Donald Trump, Bill Gates and British billionaire Richard Branson.
