Environment Canada issued a yellow snowfall warning for the City of Toronto, from Wednesday evening.
The agency says, the city could receive up to 20 centimetres of snow starting Wednesday night till Thursday afetrnoon, and could also cause significant affect on traffic during rush hour.
Snowfall warnings are also issued for other regions around Ontario, including York, Durham, and Peel.
Weather conditions are expected to be slightly harsher in areas outside of the Greater Toronto Area around Port Hope and in the Niagara Region.
The City of Toronto has been preparing for the harsh weather, with ongoing salting on TTC bus routes and all other roads as well, it said in a statement released on X.
“Snowfall is expected overnight and into the morning rush hour. Weather conditions and snow clearing operations may cause delays," read the tweet.
"Salters are visiting TTC bus routes and stops on hills this afternoon. Salting on all other roads, bikeways and sidewalks will begin as soon as snow starts to stick to pavement to reduce slipperiness”, it added further.
