Amazon employees’ break-time fight ends in murder in Texas
The shooting unfolded at an Amazon facility in Bexar County, Texas
Two men have been arrested on murder charges after a deadly shooting erupted outside an Amazon fulfilment centre in Texas, leaving one man dead and another injured.
According to News4 San Antonio, Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said Jamari McKillion and David Perez Morales Jr have been charged with first-degree felony murder over the killing of Katrael Delosier.
The shooting unfolded in the parking lot of the Amazon facility off U.S. Highway 90 West and Loop 1604.
Deputies arrived to find Delosier and Johnny Bermea III suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were rushed to hospital, but Delosier later died. Bermea survived and remained in stable condition, authorities confirmed.
Investigators say the violence followed an argument earlier in the evening between Bermea and an Amazon employee. According to arrest documents, the pair agreed to fight during a work break. Delosier had also secretly called friends for backup.
Witnesses told police the employee led Bermea toward a car in the parking lot during the break. A man then stepped out of the vehicle and opened fire before fleeing.
Investigators believe Morales fired the shots, while McKillion drove the vehicle involved.
McKillion was detained the following day at another Amazon warehouse in San Antonio. Police also seized his vehicle as part of the investigation.
