Josh Charles recalls working with 'gracious' Robin Williams in 'Dead Poets Society'
Josh Charles admits working with the late Robin Williams in 'Dead Poets Society' was 'an incredible experience'
Josh Charles recently got candid and reflected on working with the late Robin Williams in the 1989 film, Dead Poets Society.
On Monday, January 5, the 54-year-old American film, theatre, and television actor gave an interview on The View, where he opened up about sharing the screen with Williams, who died at 63 on August 11, 2014.
Charles, who played Knox Overstreet in Dead Poets Society, said getting a chance to work with the now deceased actor and comedian was “an incredible experience.”
He said of Williams, “Obviously such a huge star and such a funny man. He was really kind to all of us.”
The Jumanji star “was obviously the big star but he was very respectful of knowing that he was one part of this ensemble and was very gracious about that and treated us all really well,” Charles explained.
“And I could see his humor but I could also see the human behind it and the toll that took on him, even at that young age. I could see it,” The Handmaid’s Tale star recalled.
Before concluding, it is pertinent to mention that Robin Williams portrayed John Keating, an English professor at an all-boys school who makes a strong bond with his students in Dead Poets Society.
