With 2026 now rung in, many are wondering if King Charles’ New Year is tainted with fears about what the year will hold.

A conversation about this started with the editor painting a picture of a monarch tempted surely into some crystal ball-gazing, all while wondering what kind of year 2026 will be for him and the royals.

The editor in question, Richard Kay shared this in a piece for the Daily Mail.

He began it by taking a trip down memory lane and recounting how “there were times in the last tumultuous 12 months when the Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor drama threatened to obliterate not just all the good works of the Royal Family but also the long-term security of the House of Windsor and its grip on the nation’s affections.”

But, the Firm isn’t the only people he bashed in this piece because he also highlighted the surprising speed with which the Labour Party began questioning the Royal Family’s allegedly ‘generous’ leasing arrangements, he puts it. All because of the news surrounding Andrew.

However, he claims they are doing so in order to “shift attention away from its own Government’s lamentable failures,” with calls for this ‘wider examination’ of royal properties.

For those unversed, ever since Andrew’s connection to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein came out, he has been stripped of his titles of prince, his dukedom, and his military honors, as well as the right to reside in a royal residence.
