King Charles to face big 'dilemma' amid US visit
King Charles has a major decision to make ahead of his US visit
As King Charles prepares to make a major trip to the U.S., he’s set to face questions about whether he’ll meet his estranged son, Prince Harry.
Harry lives in Montecito, California with his wife Meghan Markle, and kids Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Richard Kay, editor at large at the Daily Mail, shared his thoughts on the matter, writing, "Setting foot on American soil will inevitably raise questions about whether he will see his wayward son, Prince Harry and his children, whom he has met only once before. He last saw his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet, during the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022."
A PR source also reflected on the topic, saying, "Extending an invitation to meet his father will almost certainly be a media event. But so too will any failure to invite him. It will be a story if Harry is there, and it will be a story if he isn’t. It’s quite a dilemma."
King Charles III last met Harry in September when the Duke of Sussex visited the country for some engagements. The King’s visit to the U.S. will be the next chance for the duo to meet.
The visit marks the first by a British monarch to the U.S. since Queen Elizabeth II accepted an invitation from George W Bush in 2007.
