Jessica Alba calls son Hayes 'coolest lil dude' as she reflects on his growth

Jessica Alba is celebrating son Hayes's another trip round the sun.

The Fantastic Four star took to her Instagram account on January 1, to mark "sweet, bright, fun, (and) hilarious" son Hayes's 8th birthday.

In the celebratory post, the doting mom posted a sweet video paying tribute to Hayes in honor of his special day.

Alba, who is set to Gorillaz's "Feel Good Inc," began, "My Hayesie, My sweet, bright, fun, hilarious Hayes. Wow—8 years ago, early in the morning on NYE, you arrived. Time has flown by, yet it has paused on so many beautiful moments with you."

"Watching you grow into the coolest lil dude ever has been one of the greatest experiences of my life," the proud mom continued.

She went on to gush over Hayes' athletic skills in sports like "tennis court, golf course, soccer field, and handball court," adding, "You take pride in being kind and doing well, which makes my heart swell. I love your quick wit with your sisters, your competitive nature—kicking my butt in UNO on the regular—and your desire to always play and have fun."

The mom of three further noted, "I love that you are bilingual and have such compassion and empathy for anyone who might feel different in any way or circumstance. I’ve admired how you have stepped into this year with so much bravery, never allowing the unknown to swallow or paralyze you, but being courageous in the face of so many new changes."

"I am tremendously proud of you and love you in this lifetime and all lifetimes forevermore. Happy Birthday, my baby boy! Mama," the proud mom concluded.

It is pertinent to mention that Alba shares Hayes and daughters, Honor and Haven, with estranged husband Cash Warren.
