Prince William, Kate Middleton steps out to surprise sports star

Prince William and Kate Middleton gave a royal surprise to Kevin Sinfield.

On Tuesday, September 29, the Prince and Princess of Wales’ official Instagram handle offered some insights into the royal couple’s latest surprise appearance at the DIY Kitchens Stadium in Wakefield to surprise the rugby league legend, Sir Kevin Sinfield after he completed the third day of his 7 in 7 challenge.

However, the caption highlighted, “Good luck to Kevin Sinfield and everyone taking part in this year’s 7 in 7 challenge.”

It continued, “Inspired by Rob Burrow and the iconic number 7 shirt he wore throughout his rugby league career, the challenge sees participants complete an ultra marathon every day for seven days, raising funds and awareness for the motor neurone disease community.”

Noting, “An honour to meet with families in Wakefield today who are part of that community, and supported by the MND Association.”

“Since it began in 2020, the 7 in 7 Challenge has raised more than £11 million in support of people living with MND and those closest to them. A remarkable achievement from all involved,” the caption concluded.

It is pertinent to mention here that Kevin is one of the acclaimed figures in English rugby league after captaining Leeds Rhinos to 15 major honors during his 18 year playing career.  

Notably, the Princess of Wales serves as a patron of the rugby football league.
