This year was different, a royal expert believes, as Prince George’s appearances in public became more noticeable, with his presence at several high-profile events in 2025 attracting much attention.

Typically, the young prince's parents, Prince William and Kate Middleton, limit their children's public appearances to give them an upbringing away from the glam, glitz & heavy responsibilities.

However, this year the pair’s eldest kid took part in more than a handful of engagements, which signal the Prince and Princess of Wales' efforts to prepare him for his future role.

This is what Richard Fitzwilliams, a royal expert, avers. "From the beginning, William and Catherine have prioritised privacy," he tells The Daily Mail.

"As George gets older, he is making more appearances at events of particular significance, especially those with links to the armed forces and sport."

This, he believes, is part of the royal couple's effort to gradually introduce their son to the responsibilities of the monarch, as he is second in line to the throne.

Richard particularly points to George's appearance at a tea party for World War II veterans to mark the VE Day's 80th anniversary this year,

"As future king, he will undoubtedly see service in the armed forces," the expert says, adding, 'Privately, his parents will have schooled him to be a part of the military tradition, which goes back hundreds of years."

It is worth noting that, in addition to VE Day, Prince George also attended the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall and visited a homeless charity.
