Meghan Markle could follow Netflix success with new book in 2026

Meghan Markle could be preparing to release a new book next year but royal insiders say it is unlikely to be the tell-all memoir many have long expected.
Former royal butler Grant Harrold has suggested that the Duchess of Sussex will instead lean into her growing lifestyle brand, following the success of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan and the launch of her company As Ever.
According to Express, he spoke about Meghan’s future plans, explaining that while speculation about a memoir has followed her for years, he believes she will carve out her own path rather than mirror Prince Harry’s explosive autobiography.
According to Harrold, any book Meghan releases is far more likely to align with her lifestyle ventures, potentially taking the form of a cookbook, a wellness guide or a written extension of her Netflix show.
“I believe Meghan will write a book in 2026, however I don’t think it will be the memoir many of her fans are hoping for,” he said.
“While she’s led a really interesting life and has many stories to tell, I don’t think she will want to share them at this point.”
He added that Meghan has already spoken openly about her experiences in interviews, suggesting she may feel there is little need to revisit them in a lengthy tell-all format.
“However I think we’ll likely see something that fits with her new lifestyle branding,” Harrold continued.
“Maybe a cookbook or a written version of her Netflix show sharing tips and tricks.”
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, has had an exceptionally busy year, releasing two series of With Love, Meghan while simultaneously launching As Ever, a lifestyle brand that sells everything from gourmet spreads to chocolate and curated homeware.
Harrold also suggested that this direction may be welcomed by the Royal Family, who are believed to prefer Meghan focusing on lifestyle projects rather than reigniting old controversies.
“I think the Royal Family hope she continues her work in the lifestyle sphere,” he said.
“It’s what she’s passionate about and she’s made a real mark. Plus, it can’t really do much harm and especially nothing like Harry did with his memoir.”
