Queen Elizabeth turned a blind eye to Andrew’s antics?
Queen Elizabeth II would have been horrified by Andrew’s conduct, says royal expert
Prince Andrew is facing renewed criticism as commentators claim Queen Elizabeth II would have been horrified had she known the full extent of his behaviour, claimed an expert.
Speaking with Charlotte Griffith on TalkTV, Kevin O’Sullivan claimed that the late Queen would have been totally “horrified” by Andrew’s antics.
“She’d be horrified by this, and what I’m really asking is whether Prince Andrew, the former Prince Andrew, has any sort of moral backbone at all,” he said.
Responding to it, Griffith replied that the late monarch was largely shielded from the reality of the situation because Andrew misled her and downplayed serious concerns as harmless social gatherings.
Despite being warned several times by then-Prince Charles and Prince William, she struggled to accept how serious the allegations against her son had become.
“The Queen wasn’t allowed to see all of this because he completely pulled the wool over her eyes,” the expert said.
She continued, “What Robert Jobson says in his piece today is that she was, in a way, willingly blinded and looked away from it.
“She was repeatedly warned by Charles and William, but she just couldn’t face up to how odious her beloved son was.
“Andrew was also more or less tricking her, and likely told her that the Sandringham weekend was simply a straightforward shooting weekend.”
She further added that “Andrew is also described as being extremely sloppy, having lost perspective as well as any sense of moral judgment, apparently believing it was acceptable to leave evidence lying around and rely on staff to stay protective and keep secrets.”
