Meghan Markle's father shares major health update

Meghan Markle's father Thomas Markle has issued a major health update days after receiving a letter from the duchess.

Thomas Markle was speaking to the Mail on Sunday.

He said: "I have much to celebrate. I am doing well and would like to thank all the people from around the world who have sent well-wishes.

“I'm doing physiotherapy every day and have managed to sit on the side of the bed and even stood on my one remaining leg with the help of a nurse and a walking frame.”

Mr. Markle said, “That was a wonderful Christmas present. There is a long way to go but I am so grateful to the wonderful doctors and nurses who are taking such good care of me."

Thomas Markle had his left lower leg amputated and the duchess reached out to him with a letter in hospital in the Philippines.

Speaking to the GB News, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams says despite Meghan’s letter to her father following his leg amputation, “fallout has implied that she doesn't want further contact.”

The royal expert made these remarks after Meghan's spokesman confirmed that a letter had been delivered to Thomas through “reliable and trusted contacts” after earlier efforts to contact him directly were unsuccessful.

However, it has since been reported that Meghan has not received any reply to the letter and has deleted her father's number and has no plans to reunite with him.
