Royal commentator Tom Sykes has just turned to his personal substack to deliver his personal verdict on why the King seems to have invited the daughters of his disgraced, now-commoner brother to Christmas lunch, while leaving out both him and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson whose lived with him despite their divorce.

In the eyes of the expert, the only possible reason for it is that he still has a kind of a ‘blind’ spot for the girls.

He claimed this as part of the title of his piece released on December 17th, 2025.

As part of the piece the expert warns that while King Charles might see himself as “showing compassion by embracing Andrew’s daughters” the truth of the matter is that “many Britons see a monarchy that still doesn’t get it.”

However, he did make note of one thing, and that is King Charles’ hopes behind this decision’s outcome.

Because in doing so he’s rumored to have launched a ‘softening up’ exercise ahead of them likely joining the king on Christmas Day,” he claimed in The Royalist.

Furthermore there is also the chance that the monarch simply “keeps inviting and including them because he thinks it is a way to project unity and continuity, this time via the familiar tableau of an extended, eccentric, slightly batty royal family gathering beneath the gilded opulence of BP.”

And perhaps “it’s meant to be a signal that, whatever storms rage inside palace walls, the House of Windsor endures,” he also added before signing off.
